BAROOCan You Hear the Call?First thing you have to know about Baroo is that we are a band playing original music, heavily influenced by the long tradition of rock n roll, from Rhythm & Blues to New Wave. Baroo went out of commission after the great Chicago Exodus of 2001. Central to our existence is good honest songwriting. Rock journalist Lisa Sorg remarks on our EP, "The Condition reflects its members charming personalities...detractors - if the band has any - may say this is too stylistically far flung, but for me the unpredictability is half the fun." Our collective involvement inspired our cascading vocal arrangements and the casual, yet tightly formatted exchange of instruments throughout our show. We generally performed original music, electric or acoustic. The music does all the talking on our three song demo, "The Condition", recorded this summerin 2001 at Truckstop with David Pavkovic. The songs are: "The Condition" by keyboardist/guitarist Debika Chatterjea, "Be My Jacket" by guitarist/harmonica Lance Drake, and "I'll Rent an Army in Nepal" by guitarist/interpretive dancer PJ Christie.
